Q: What COVID-19 tests do we offer?

Q: What do these COVID-19 tests detect?
- A: Rapid Test and PCR Test: This test will detect if you are actively infected with the COVID-19 virus.
Antibody IgG /IgM (Blood Test) administrated via finger prick: This test will detect if you have had prior exposure to or infection with COVID-19 and have built antibodies for the virus. For most viral illnesses, a positive antibody means prior to exposure to a virus and possible immunity to future infection. As COVID-19 is a novel (new) infection, it is unclear if a positive antibody offers immunity. Altru Chemists recommends universal precautions (Hand washing, social distancing, and masks when appropriate).
Q: How are these tests administered?
- - Rapid Test: Administered via a nasal swab.
- - PCR Test: Administered via a nasal swab.
- - Antibody IgG/IgG (Blood Test): administered via a finger prick
Q: Will I have to wait in line to receive a COVID-19 test?
A: NO! Just make an appointment online and show up on your scheduled visit.
Q: Do you take walk-ins?
A: Yes, just expect a 10-15 minute wait time if you come in without an appointment.
Q: How long will it take to receive my results and how do I view them?
- Rapid Antigen COVID Test: You should expect to receive your results within approximately 30 minutes. Your results will be provided via email and come from Resil Health email address.
- PCR Test: The average turnaround time for PCR (Nasal Swab) lab results is currently 1-2 days Your results will be provided via email and come from Religen covid.support@religendx.com. If you don't receive an email in your inbox, please be sure to check your spam or junk folder.
- Rapid Antibody IgG/IgM (Blood Test) administrated via finger prick: RAPID ANTIGEN TEST RESULTS are available after 30 minutes, however, they are typically emailed within hours. Your results will be provided via email and come from Resil Health. If you don't receive an email in your inbox, please be sure to check your spam or junk folder.

Q: Are COVID-19 Rapid Antigen tests covered by my insurance?
A: Since we don't bill your insurance for the COVID Rapid Antigen Test, we encourage all patients to submit their claim to insurance for reimbursement. You will be provided with the necessary information from our facility. Although we are happy to answer questions and provide documentation, we can not guarantee that your insurance will cover the full cost of your test.
Yes, COVID-19 PCR tests are covered by most NYS-based insurance plans.
Q: Is your RT-PCR Test TSA approved?
A: Generally YES! However, since each state/country/airline has different requirements we can not guarantee that this test will meet the requirements of each jurisdiction.
Q: Can I pay for the test instead of submitting it to the insurance?
A: Yes, you can choose to pay for your test with a debit/credit/FSA/HSA card for RT-PCR and RAPID ANTIGEN TEST. The cost is $140 for RT-PCR and $95 for RAPID ANTIGEN TEST.
Q: Does Altru Chemists bill for any COVID-related services?
A: NO, Altru Chemists is not collecting any co-payments for COVID-19 related visits. Billing is administrated by Resil Health in partnership with Religen Diagnostics.Please contact 484-534-9311 or covid.support@religendx.com with any inquiries regarding your COVID RT-PCR Test Results. Q: What precautions do I take based on my test results?
Rapid Test
Negative
Continue to exercise universal precautions such as social distancing, quarantining, frequent hand washing, wearing of a mask or face cloth in public, and other CDC guideline recommendations.
Positive
You are recommended to self-quarantine for 10 days from the onset of symptoms. After 10 days, you may return to work provided your respiratory symptoms (ie cough, runny nose) are improving AND you are fever-free for 24 hours (without using fever-reducing medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen).
PCR Test
Negative
Continue to exercise universal precautions such as social distancing, quarantining, frequent hand washing, wearing of a mask or face cloth in public, and other CDC guideline recommendations.
Positive
You are recommended to self-quarantine for 10 days from the onset of symptoms. After 10 days, you may return to work provided your respiratory symptoms (ie cough, runny nose) are improving AND you are fever-free for 24 hours (without using fever-reducing medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen).
Rapid Antibody IgG/IgM (Blood Test) administrated via finger prick
Regardless of your results, you should continue to exercise universal precautions such as social distancing, quarantining, frequent hand washing, wearing of a mask or face cloth in public, and other CDC guideline recommendations. Remember, COVID-19 is a new infection, and it is unclear if a positive antibody definitively offers immunity.
